Matua Eugene Ryder (From Raroa Normal Intermediate Kapa Haka) carved the "mauri" for the festival and it was presented to Matua Wayne Firmin, at the second festival in 2002 which was held by Raroa Normal Intermediate.

The mauri is in the form of a book, with the Cross on the front in recognition of St Brigids Catholic faith, it has two panels on the front which open out (as pages in a book would ) to reveal plaques on the inside of the Schools who have hosted this festival.
